Pecan Storage

Your farm fresh pecans are full of healthy, delicious oils. Due to the natural breakdown of these oils and fats at room temperature, it is suggested to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.

Storage Methods

  • Refrigerator

    •  Storing your pecans in an airtight container in the refrigerator will keep them fresh for 6-9 months.

  • Freezer

    • Storing your pecans in an airtight container in the freezer will keep them fresh for up to 2 years.

    • Your pecans can be frozen and thawed repeatedly and maintain their fresh flavor and texture.

    • Your pecans can be used for baking directly from the freezer without the need for tempering.

    • Our one pound gift bags are produced from a high quality plastic that is freezer safe and maybe used reseal and refreeze your pecans repeatedly.

Did You Know?

Our pecans are fresher than those at grocery and wholesale clubs because pecans should be treated like fruit and vegetables.

While sitting on a shelf or display at room temperature, the pecans are actively becoming rancid. This is why grocer nuts appear darker. They have been sitting at room temperature long enough to become rancid and dark. Would you buy rotten, rancid fruit? Of course not! Why settle for overpriced, rancid pecans?
